I am SO excited and SO happy with the photos I am getting and I haven't even learned all the bells and whistles. It is amazing to see the difference in a SOOC (straight off of camera) shot on my DSLR and my old bridge camera. I'm in love! So now I get to learn lenses and off camera flash. I can't wait!
Here's what my new baby looks like...
Here are a few shots I was able to get today. Still trying to learn what settings work best with this one and how to get a good focus where I want it using an actual lens, so these aren't perfect, but I wanted to share anyway. :)

I should have used flash to give her catchlights and that would have been perfect for week 4 of the 2peas 12 weeks to better photos assignment (which I am doing this week.)

Looks like you're going to get along nicely. My biggest suggestion is to read your manual through once without the camera. Then, go back and read it, playing with the camera, making notations in a little notebook and then, keeping the notebook in your bag at all times. Then, when you get an idea or a lightbulb moment, you'll have your notebook to jot it down on.

The new photos are looking great. Right off the bat I could tell. all three are great 1 and 2 are my fav. For some reason I'm liking the color more on these. It has great color though!

Yay! Congrats! I am looking to update my bridge camera now that I am actually wanting to learn and pursue my photography. I don't have enough money for a DSLR yet... but I love sony. Everything electronic I own in Sony. I've been wanting the Alpha for over a year now and people are talking me out of it... not sure why. Let me know how you like it. I am curious to know. I am still researching.
